Principal education at Stockholm University is located at the Department of Education, but is conducted in collaboration with several other departments.

The Principal Education include Recruitment training courses for future principals, the main Principal training programme, and Continuing Professional Development courses for principals.

The Principal training programme is a state-regulated executive education for principals, preschool principals and other persons with corresponding management functions who have a key role for state-regulated and curriculum-controlled activities.

Our ambition is to create an educational and developing education through an interdisciplinary collaboration. To achieve this ambition, we take into account both academic and scientific quality as well as the course participants' professional experiences and the position's requirements for leading and developing educational activities.

Through various surveys and conversations with both principals and schools, we know that our education is both enriching and developing, and that through education we are able to strengthen our course participants' confidence in and ability to exercise leadership in complex activities.

The education is led by the head of education, Pia Skott, and for the coordination of the various departments' contributions to the education, there is a steering group with representatives from all four participating departments.
