This topic focuses on processes in learning environments that create good conditions for learning and prevent difficulties; via the social climate in relationships between teachers and students and peer relationships, for example. The topic is based on a framework of theories and models that are integrated. They examine and promote understanding of good conditions for development and learning and of elements in the learning environment that hinder these processes and constitute a threat to the development, well-being and health of children. This knowledge can be used to describe and develop key quality aspects in learning environments. Specific methods and initiatives used to support these processes are also studied: surveys, structured observations, coaching and development of new tools.
