About the centre

The Stockholm Centre for the Rights of the Child is a research centre at the Faculty of Law, as well as a space for collaboration between child right's oriented researchers from all over Stockholm University. The centre is also the hub of a child law-oriented network of researchers from various scientific fields, both nationally and internationally, and has a wide network of contacts with representatives of authorities and organizations with an interest in child law issues.

Research

Research is the core of the centre's activities. The research focuses on children's rights and legal issues concerning children in a wide range of situations and in different legal fields, e.g. family law, procedural law, criminal law, social law and public law.

Stockholm Studies in Child Law and Children's Rights

This is a series of studies on child law and children’s rights that seeks to provide timely and high-quality analyses of all issues relating to the interface of children and adolescents with their surrounding societies. The focus is on legal research results, but multi-disciplinary child-right-related studies also have an obvious place in the series.

Specific initiatives

Children, Migration and Integration

In 2016, the Human Science Academic Area introduced a specific interdisciplinary initiative which is coordinated and administered by the Stockholm Centre for the Rights of the Child. The aim of the initiative has been to establish a sustainable, multi-methodological research cluster at Stockholm University with research that focuses on issues concerning children, migration and integration within the humanities, social sciences and legal sciences.

Events and seminars

The Centre organizes seminars and conferences that attract participants from many different scientific fields and practitioners with interest in child law and children’s rights. More information about current seminars and events held in English can be found here on the website in our calendar.
