Welcome Activities

Stockholm University organises a series of welcome activities at the beginning of each semester. The activities are designed to assist you as a new student and introduce you to university life in Stockholm and Sweden. Attendance to these events is optional, but we highly recommend attending in order for you to familiarize yourself with the campus and the support available for students, as well as to make friends!

Arrival Service

The Arrival Service is the first of our welcome activities, where we receive new international students at Arlanda Airport and on Campus Frescati. There are shuttle buses going from Arlanda to Frescati every hour during the time we are there. Once on campus, you can receive the one-time code needed to activate your university account, become a member of the student union, pick up your housing key if you have received housing through the university, enjoy some fika, and more. You are very welcome to attend Arrival Service on campus even if you arrive in Stockholm on a different day!

The Arrival Service for autumn semester 2025 will take place 23-24 August.

Welcome Fair and social activities

At the fair, you can meet and interact with representatives of the different organisations at the university such as IT services, the library, the Student Union, and many more. The social activities include a speed friending. The Welcome Fair for autumn semester 2025 will take place on the 29th of August.
