Dutch Linguistics Research

Our research into Dutch Linguistics revolves around Contrastive Swedish-Dutch Studies in which different language structures as postural verbs, impersonal passives etc. are compared within the research framework of Cognitive Semantics. This research is also linked toThird Language Acquisition

Moreover, we also conduct research into Corpus Linguistics and Sociolinguistics with a particular interest in language planning and policy in the pluricentric Dutch language area, as well as the description of its dominant and non-dominant national varieties, and its use in different media.

Also, research is done within Social Semiotics, Multimodal Discourse Analysis and Spatial Discourse Analysis. This research is partly linked to our research in Translation Studies.

The researchers of the Dutch language section are part of the research group Network Language and power at Stockholm university.
