Dutch Translation Studies Research

The research at the Dutch section is firmly rooted in Translation Studies. Our research is partly conducted within Descriptive Translation Studies, Audiovisual Translation Studies, Social Semiotics, and Multimodal Discourse Analysis focusing on media for younger target audiences with a special interest in multimodal depiction and (linguistic) diversity in glocalised media.

Furthermore, research is carried out within Translation Sociology with a focus on translation of Dutch language literature from a transnational perspective. This research is part of the international projects and networks DLIT (Dutch Literature in Translation) and Binnenlandse Vogels, Buitenlandse Nesten (’Domestic Bords, Foreign Nests’), which are continuations to the earlier international network  CODL (Circulation of Dutch Literature).

The researchers of the Dutch language section are part of the research group Network Language and power at Stockholm university.
