BIG's office renovations completed

BIG's office has now undergone a total renovation and the staff has moved back to fresh premises.

Deferred renovation

It all started a year ago. It had then been decided that the student office would be repainted and in June the staff moved to lecture hall E314 opposite to make room for the painters.

But when all the furniture was removed, it became obvious that the premises were in a deplorable condition and that a beautifying repainting of the walls was not enough. In fact, no significant maintenance had been done on the premises since they were built in 1985. So the staff had to completely move back to their worn-out rooms, waiting for better times.

Almost everything is new

n March this year, it was finally time for the big total renovation! The office staff once again had to pick and pack and move, now to different premises on D3. At the end of May, the work was finished and they moved back to substantially refreshed premises.

All rooms have now received new carpets, new lighting and new suspended ceilings and all joinery, doors and walls have been painted. Electricity and ventilation have been renovated and windows and blinds serviced. Some of the old furniture, however, has been retained – those that were not from 1985 – but there will be some additions to the furniture. In connection with the renovation, BIG also took the opportunity to create a new meeting room by converting room 311, which for many years has been the study counselor's office, into a large conference room.

What a visitor notices most about the new office is probably that some walls have been painted in a color other than white. But you only see that if you go into the rooms! The new meeting room, for example, has been given a large background wall in calming green.
