Lucy Ojong started working at BIG on September 4 and is temping for Aleksandra Sommertune, who will be on leave for the full coming year.

Lucy comes most recently from Karolinska Institutet, where she also worked as a Study Administrator. At the same time, she was VFU coordinator, that is, arranged internships for medical students, which meant a lot of contact with the students and with hospitals and health centers.

Starting work at BIG now feels like coming home, says Lucy, referring to the subject area. She has always been curious about science and earned a Bachelor's degree in biology in Cameroon, where she was born and raised. The education was then supplemented with a Master's degree in molecular biology at Södertörn University.

With the job at BIG, Lucy thinks she has landed right, because she likes both biology and administration. It's fun to keep track of things, to plan and to find solutions. Maybe she can even influence the students' situation sometimes?

In her free time, Lucy enjoys dancing, walking in the woods and traveling. For the sake of her daughters, she also trains her swimming skills.
