My Lönn is a new study counsellor at BIG since August 23. She is employed full-time and will work on the Bachelor's level, together with Alexandra Balogh.

My has extensive experience in study counselling. She comes most recently from KTH, where for twelve years she worked as a study counsellor for the programmes Technical Chemistry and Biotechnology.

The work at SU involves both similarities and changes compared to the work at KTH. Some of the courses are quite similar and the students' problems are often the same. But the student population is slightly different at BIG: here there are both programme students and independent courses, and there is a greater breadth in terms of the students' age and background.

In addition, the work as a study counsellor at the university involves more administration. At KTH, much is centrally managed, for better or for worse, while the university has placed more responsibility at departmental level, for example when it comes to assessing students' eligibility.

After four weeks at the new workplace, My says that it has a creative environment and a lovely campus. She enjoys the department and her varied duties very well. "I won't get bored here!", says My.

My prefers to spend her free time with her family, but she also exercises and likes forest walks and travel.
